The space of time between this entry and the last, was a little longer than I'd hoped. But at least in that time I've accumulated plenty to post. I had visions of myself spending the Easter break relaxing, and taking time to do the things I'm usually to busy to enjoy leisurely. But naturally my plan went out the window with the many things i have to sort out in the next few weeks, (and my tendency to end up on tumblr or in front of the t.v watching Criminal Minds or something haha). Having said that, I have had some time to do some interesting things over the last month or so. One of the things on my agenda is doing a bit of decoration in my bedroom. It doesn't need much of a change, but i want to get a few little ornaments and do some light D.I.Y to breathe new life into it. In that sense spending time on the internet hasn't been a total waste, because there really are so many sources of inspiration on here. I've picked up a few clothing and cosmetic items on my travels recently, as well as some nice things for my room. I think i might wait to post about these, so i can include them all in one entry. Until then here are some photographs from the last month or so.

A Day in Spring

Hia everyone, got a chance to take a good few photographs these past few sunny days so i thought i would share :D. It's been nice to have a more laid-back day, as I've been super busy with work recently (essays, art exam work etc).

I also got a chance to take the outfit photographs i was hoping to, when i went out for a walk today.

This hat has been my best friend for the past few months since i bought it in H&M, and seeing as it wasn't much more than about £3-something, I'd say it was darn good value for money. This blouse is also a favourite of mine, i got it at Clothes Show in Birmingham back in November, which was probably one of the best places I've ever been for handmade/one-off/vintage shopping. The wedges are from new look ( s/s of last year), and although i did mention it in my last post, my floral top is from Topshop and my skirt is from Zara. I've really liked Zara's spring/summer clothing so far, this skirt is so light it hardly feels like you're wearing it. I hope i can find a few more pastel pieces to pair with it soon, something mint i hope..

and now for a few more photographs from today..

Pastels!

Well it hasn’t been too long since my last post, but I’ve most certainly been busy with my camera. At last I’ve managed to wave a heartfelt goodbye to the rich, autumn/winter tones, and began immersing myself in pastel shades galore. Whether it’s in nature, clothes, food..  The little girl in me just can’t help falling for minty greens, and candyfloss pinks (I’m sure my leopard print clad counterpart would disapprove). At the moment there is just something interesting to me about faded, mild colours. Like life permanently captured on Polaroid film. At the moment I imagine myself wearing lace, chiffon and pearls. Sitting in a room full of flowers, reading a good old dog-eared book.

I love my mother's vintage cake stand, maybe I'll make some homemade goodies to decorate it someday. (if i ever get a spare five minutes).

In other news. i did a bit of shopping recently.
                                                      Here's what i got.

(Skirt: zara, Dress: miss selfridge Top:topshop Bag:topshop)

I can't wait to see how these nail wraps turn out!
As i was waiting to pay in topshop seen "Meadham Krichhoff" and that was it.. their tactic of placing random, cool things near the till obviously works.. well on magpies like me it does...
I've never used them before so we shal see...

and last but not least, this pair of rings from H&M.

Flowers, glorious flowers..

February is almost at an end, and I already predict an on-going obsession with flowers is set to develop throughout March. Not just on clothes (which I undoubtedly have a fixation with), but as subjects for photographs and decoration. It shouldn’t be long before the daffodils bloom, which was always a big thing when I was young, because my school was just above a bank that was covered in them by springtime. I’d almost forgotten how nostalgic a subject they could be, but then I remembered the days of making daisy chains, and drawing flower upon flower because it was the only thing you knew you could draw well. Valentines has also made bouquets of flowers hard to escape, which has undoubtedly fuelled my craving for all things floral.

Admittedly I am very much a winter girl, I love frosty mornings and cosy layered clothing (in fact overly warm weather makes me feel uncomfortable and lethargic). However, if there is one thing that can spur me on into the spring/summer months it’s a pretty floral pattern.

awkward introductions

So I should probably just address one issue, I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'M DOING. Okay, now that’s out of the way..
Are you meant to introduce yourself on these things? Granted, I could have done more research on how to start a blog, but it’s been one of those things I’ve been “meaning to do” for too long. Maybe I’ve thrown myself in at the deep end, but there we go. Lots of pictures and rants to come. x
